Pretty Good
2009-02-25
This is Neil when he is leaving a moderately popular band (Buffalo Springfiled) and has yet to be annointed as the carrier of fire for deep and mystical forces (if you've seen "Journey Through the Past," then you may get my drift). He actually askes the audience what they would like to hear. Crisp guitar and lyrical singing make this kind of fun.

Love this CD
2009-02-23
I have not watched the DVD but I love the CD. I guess after a few dozen more listens I may get tired of hearing his tales about working at the bookstore, but I can tune that out in between songs :-). It's just so pure and beautiful and other than having to re-hear his stories, I do love hearing him talk, I feel like I know the young Neil a little better.

An early recording of a wonderful voice
2009-02-22
I bought this for a friend after my brother
sent me one. It's a great CD, from Neil Young's concert in a coffee house in Ann Arbor back in the mid to late 60s. Don't buy it expecting lots of concert video. And I'm not sure I have the technology sensitive enough to pick up the enhanced quality of a DVD-audio recording. But the sound on both discs is fine and it makes me wish all the more that Neil hadn't canceled his Kansas City concert date this past November and attended a high tech conference in San Fran instead to discuss his Lincoln revitalization 100+ mpg car project (being built in a Wichita, Kansas, garage). Well, he's got an inimitable style, it's great to hear his early voice, and may he keep strumming and singing for many, many years, or, in the words of CSNY, long may he run... |
