Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard with Backlighting (Model:920-000914)

Sharp looking keyboard and well lighted. I would rate very good keyboard. Only problem I seem to have is hitting the Cap Lock key next to the A key. Never had this problem before on my old Dell keyboard.

I have a penchant for keyboards that light up the keys as I prefer subdued lighting in my office rather the brighter overhead ceiling lights. This is my third such keyboard purchase. The first was an Auravision eluminx keyboard and the second was a Saitek Eclipse II. Out of the three, this is by far the best. I actually only have two issues.
* First, the backspace key on most keyboards is double width while on this keyboard it is about one and one-half width. I use the backspace key lot to correct my many mistakes while typing, so it is important that I be able to hit it with my pinky accurately. Fortunately, I don't seem to have a problem with its reduced size.
* The second is that since the function keys are dual use, they have two images on each key, an icon denoting its use and the F-number. Only the icon is lit and not the F-number making it more difficult to see what F-key you are hitting; however, the keys are grouped in groups of four making it easier to determine what key you are hitting.
That aside, this keyboard has many features I just love.
* First, the lighting on these keys is just great. None of the other keyboards I have used make the keys so clear to see. Eluminx used a backlight to light up clear keys with black print while the Saitek keys just aren't as clear to see in reduced lighting (this may be due to using red, blue or purple colors instead of white as in this keyboard).
* Second, the tactile feel is the best I've felt on any keyboard. Logitech uses something they call the PerfectStroke key system which uses an optimum key travel. I think they got it right on this.
* This is the slickest keyboard I've ever owned. It is one sharp looking keyboard with a very slim profile.
* Another good idea is the reduced size function and other keys along the top. These don't need to be as large since they are used less frequently.
* All of the function keys have dual operations. In addition to working as standard F-keys, they have other functions that can also be changed with the accompanying software. For example, you have keys for opening a mail application, browser, media player and even the DVD burner. In all, I counted eighteen operations controlled by the upper keys.
* The insert key has been moved up to the upper row and the delete was doubled in size. I think this was a good idea. I can't remember when I last need the insert key.
* It has nice integral arm rest built in.
Overall, I think Logitech engineers put a lot of thought into this keyboard. I am very pleased with the results. I was able to snatch this one on sale for $60.

Thin, sleek, and functional. The keys just glide under my fingers. The software allows for on-screen display of functions. The back lighting adjusts to 3 different brightness levels. I bought this with the Logitech LS1 Laser Mouse and the two couldn't be a better match. I'm a programmer, so this keyboard definitely meets my needs. Thinking of possibly buying another one for my office computer. Great buy!
